Πληροφορίες Εκστρατείας

Aggelos is a 17-year-old man, who has been battling cancer for the past four years. When he was just 13 years old, he developed some swelling on his chest. His parents sought medical advice, however the doctors couldn’t determine the cause of the swelling. 2 months later, he suddenly turned blue and lost consciousness. As soon as his mother brought him to the E.R., Aggelos got transferred to the PICU, and after a series of tests, he got diagnosed with stage III T-cell lymphoma of the mediastinum. Aggelos was immediately subjected to chemotherapy, according to the treatment protocol, which lasted for several months. Even though the tests were showing that the cancer was in remission, he recently developed masses to the genital and abdominal area.

Currently, Aggelos is being regularly subjected to chemotherapy in a hospital of Athens, while in the foreseeable future he will also need to be subjected to radiation therapy. After all of these treatments, Aggelos is worn out. He has lost a lot of weight, while he doesn’t have the strength to get out of bed. According to the medical staff who is treating him, Aggelos needs to be subjected to a home-based physiotherapy program, due to the prolonged bed rest.

Aggelos’ parents have never left his side, while doing everything in their power in order to encourage their son who has been fighting the greatest battle of his life. After all these years however, the family has come to a financial dead, therefore they are unable to cope with their son’s ever-increasing, health-related expenses.

Aggelos has been through a lot these past four years, however he is not giving up. He is so young and he has his whole life ahead of him. Today, he needs our help. We have the power to support him and to offer him the chance to fight and win this battle! Together, we can make it happen!
